Teach Soap

I've managed to make a few loafs I'm pleased with but been getting dos I've only ever used pomace. I've read that your more likely to get dos with pomace. What are your thoughts ?
I don't want to get excited with a loaf to find it gets spots later on.

I use pomace all the time and don't get DOS. Some thoughts: What other oils are you using? What is your superfat? How is your soap stored? There are lots of reasons you could be getting DOS. Are you sure it's DOS? Sometimes spots can be from caramelized sugars from additives or from fragrance that hasn't been fully incorporated.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Here is the recipe I used

Rapeseed oil 10oz. 40%
Sunflower oil 5oz. 20%
Olive oil 7.5 oz. 30%
Coconut oil 2.5 oz. 10%

Lye 3.44oz
Water 8.25 oz

Yields 36.69oz

I only make small batches and have the most basic oils as I'm still learning .they are kept in a cool cupboard and get used quickly as I only buy in small amounts.

Pomace is the last dregs of olive oil and sometimes solvents are used to extract that last bit of oil from the olives. I find that pomace traces too fast for me so I don't use it.
