Hello everyone!

I have a wood mold that is 11 5/8 x 3 x 3 7/8 - if my math is correct, that can hold 55.2 ounces of oil, so, if I plug into soapcalc, and it spits out that my total soap weight before cure is 77ounces, I should be fine, right? I asked on FB, and got the "yes".

However, on BB, I saw in the comments section on a loaf mold that the CSR told a customer that the total soap weight needs to be accounted for?

So, which is it?

That should be correct. My 2# mold uses 28 ounces of oil, so by the time I add in my water/lye weight, I have about 44 ounces total.
If I use 32 ounces of oils I have too much soap for my mold.

That looks correct. You can also use this soap calculator if you need to figure out amounts for a specific mold: since it lets you input specific dimensions.
