Hello everyone!

I was just wondering if it would be possible to make 100% goat's milk soap? Would I be able to use goat's milk in the pot as my only oil and add regular lye water to that? If so, how would I go about it? I haven't found any calculators that allow this input.

and if not, I will just make 100% lard soap with goat's milk lye water. I've read that the superfat for this should be low, what percent would it be?

Goat's milk won't saponify on its own- there's not enough fat in it. You have to have oils. That's why you aren't finding it on the soap calculators. I superfat my 100% lard soaps made with goat milk at 7%.

May I ask the reasoning for 7%? Does lard not become "too fatty" when used in high amounts? Or is it like coconut oil where too much becomes drying?

you need the oils and butters to saponify according to a lye calc. Milk dos have some fat, but ti won't change the final soap. I always supperfat at 7-8% and use the milk as my liquid.
