Teach Soap

Has anyone made soap that exfoliates skin? I've seen in stores and online lavender buds that you can put in your soap to use to exfoliate the skin. I've also heard that some people open bags of tea and put that in their soap. Has anyone tried to make exfoliating soap and what have you used?

I've used finely ground oatmeal, coffee grounds, poppy seeds, pumice powder, lemon peel powder, grits, cornmeal, etc. I tried tea, but found it too scratchy feeling. Lavender buds will eventually turn brown and end up looking like mouse droppings, but you can grind them up and add them.
