Hi. I'm a complete novice at soap making. Due to ethical concerns I don't want to use Palm oil or animal fats in my soap. Does anyone have a reliable recipe that doesn't use this products? Many thanks

For $10 you can get an e-book with lots of palm-free recipes. She also explains how to make soap, gives a lot of information about the process, and the book is really beautiful.

Keep in mind - if you are genuinely concerned about the environmental impact of soap ingredients - that palm is not the only oil with issues. Where do you think coconut oil comes from? Tropical regions that are cleared and planted with coconut palms - just like palm oil. Palm oil issues are just the "latest" to get press.
