Hi, we made our second batch of soap last night. We used a 30/30/30/10 recipe and superfatted at 7%. The only difference in the two batches was the addition of a FO. The second batch feels to me a tiny bit sticky or tacky although not bad. It definitely gelled which is fine. I didn't have any soda ash on that one and only a small spot of the first loaf. Is it supposed to feel a little bit tacky after it comes out of the mold? It was in the mold for 24 hours and made 24 hours after the first batch.

Thank you!

Some recipes can be a little sticky when the soap comes out of the mold. Give it some time.

Even with exactly the same recipe, the FO or EO used can make the soap feel and behave very differently.
Keep really good batch notes as you go along, and you'll soon be able to identify not only the scents you like - but the ones that are worth/not worth the hassle. :)

My superfatted soaps always seem a it soft for a day or two or three at least , I have had some batches I came close to throwing out only to find they age perfectly
