Teach Soap

I would like to make a perfect layer, but my top layer keeps breaking through. (I do pour it over the back of a spoon).

I was wondering if I can pour the bottom layer, wait 30mins or so, spray with alcohol, then pour the top layer. Would that work?

I am trying to get this nice tight look. (this is not my pic, I borrowed it).

You can pour another layer 24 hours later, just as long as the first layer didn't gel. Then gel all of it. Alcohol helps with ash in CP soap and it helps with MP soap for layers to adhere. Alcohol won't help in CP soap for the layers.

hmm, I have never poured that much later either...and the soap won't break apart at the layer line when cut? I guess you have to pour and then force gel with added heat?

So, in theory, if I wanted to do multiple logs of layered soap: I could mix and pour and inch layer (or whatever) or color#1, and keep cool so it doesn't gel... then much later - say - it doesn't have to be 24 hours, right? It could be 3 or 4..whatever lets the soap underneath firm up. The repeat with layers #2 through #4 (or any number). Then after pouring the last layer - cover, insulate - place somewhere warm or on heating pad, and let the whole thing gel...even after X hours - those first layers will gel okay?
