Teach Soap

Ever use powdered sage to color cp soap? Using all vegetable oils (coconut, veggie, cocoa butt) but I'm also using a little castor. Any thoughts? Was wanting to use powdered spices for coloring. Haven't delved into powdered earth pigments yet but was wondering if what I had in my kitchen would work.

I make a bar that has ground sage in it. I powder it in my coffee grinder. I think if you wanted it to color your soap, it would take a lot of it. I use quit abit and it does not affect the color at all. Just adds great scent to it and some scrubby properties. The green color throughout the bar is from micas.

Micas? Are they relatively easy to use? What about the 'greenness' of them? Trying to stay 'green' as much as I can with my soaps. Seems to be something people like and are interested in.

I used Paprika to color my last batch, it gives it a nice salmon color, I'm sure the color isn't as even as synthetic colors are, but I think it worked ok. I haven't used other colorings.

Paprika does give a nice color, just be careful how much you use. It can irritate sensitive areas...
