Teach Soap

I'm going to buy my first wooden mold and I'd like to know what kind of paper to use to line it. Is it necessary to use true "freezer" paper? Butcher paper is less expensive, will it do? What features does the paper need to have? Does it need to be plastic coated on one side?

For my wood molds, I use freezer paper. Glossy side towards the soap. I have also read that you can cut silicone rolling pads and use those over and over, but I have not tried that yet.

Better to be wise by the misfortunes of others than by your own.

Freezer paper works best. Other papers stick to the soap. You can also use a heavy duty trash bag to line the molds.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I use Reynolds freezer paper.I source it in large quantities from the USA ( I'm in Australia ) I can usually get two uses out of the linings before throwing away. I have found this to be the best.
I have used black garbage bags, freezer bags....they don't give as neat a finish.
