I premix a 50% lye solution and keep it on hand for when I soap. I recently ordered some Tussah Silk. I wondered if I could add the silk when I make the 50% lye solution. I wasn't sure if it would remain stable for an extended period of time.
Has anyone tried this?

Yes you can. Add it when the lye is hot.
