I just got home from my local Grocery Outlet. Bertolli Classic Olive Oil, 17 fluid ounce, $2.99

In a UC Davis study, these brands failed to meet olive oil standards:
Bertolli
Carapelli
Colavita
Filippo Berio
Mazzola
Mezzetta
Newmans Own
Pompeian
Rachel Ray
Star
Whole Foods

In the same study, these olive oils met the standards:
Corto Olive
California Olive Ranch
Kirkland Organic
Lucero (Ascolano)
McEvoy Ranch Organic

It's very possible that your olive oil was adulterated with another oil.

I thought the study showed that they weren't *mixed* with another oil, but moreso poor quality and didnt fit in the extra virgin catagory. Hmm, might have to ready more
