Hello. I am new to CP Soaping. Do I subtract the EO amount from the total liquid portion? i.e if the batch calls for 12oz of liquid do I subtract the amount of EO I would be using from the 12oz of liquid? Is EO considered a liquid for the liquid portion of CP Soap making? Thank you.

No, essential and fragrance oils do not count toward your liquid amount. They also are not calculated into your base oils. Just be sure to use them at rates indicated by the manufacturer. Bramble Berry has a great fragrance calculator at the bottom of their home page that can help you decide how much to use for light, medium, or heavy fragrance. Happy soaping!
