Hi Folks -

What are the general guidelines for using Vanilla Color Stabilizer with an FO containing vanillin? I have read before that, if the FO contains up to a certain percentage of vanillin, one should use this much stabilizer, and if the amount of vanillin is over this percentage, one should use this amount of stabilizer.

I just cannot remember those guidelines.

Many thanks!

I would just follow what the bottle said, all companies have different standards. I haven't had luck with it (even using a bit too much) and still get dark soaps. So... its time I embrace the dark.

Vanillin content up to 2% should not turn the soap dark.
Anything over that will.
With that said, even with the vanilla stabilizer, the soap will turn dark over time.
