Just made a batch of 100% coconut oil soap, with 3oz of borax added in... and as a little help for scrubbing with stains, 2oz of washing soda. It was a 40oz oil loaf. Never did a 100% coconut bar before, within an hour it was already solid. I think I might have to cut it within 2-3 hours or I might not be able to!

Anyone ever make a stain stick before? I know I can grate it into laundry soap, but I make a liquid soap for that already (out of a coconut/palm bar) and was looking for something to go with it... "upsell" My laundry soap goes amazingly fast at markets, moreso since I began to scent it (lemon and lavender options so far)

I've done a stain stick in a lotion-bar tube. Mine was 100% lard, 0 superfat, with orange EO.

My coconut oil stick went insanly hard... I have done a coconut bar before and never had that happen.... think the laundry soda I put in, had an issue...

So, grated the bar down, kept a few pieces for me to try out as a stick... (works AMAZING) so going to take the grated down bar and turn into my liquid soap.

DixieDragon, how did your stain stick come out? I'm wondering if your orange EO held up, I've had issues with getting my orange scents to stay strong. Did the stick work well?

VanillaCharms, maybe a mix of coconut and lard for the stain stick will make it a bit softer?

I've had the ingredients to make laundry soap for a while now, but haven't got around to making a soap with 0% SF to use. I like the idea of a stain stick too. My family certainly needs it! I currently have a large bottle of Shout, which works on most things, but would like something else for those tough stains. I wonder if there's a way to incorporate hydrogen peroxide for blood stains. (I know that sounds suspicious, lol, but I work in healthcare)

My laundry soap, is used as a pre treater, stain remover. It gets out blood and a lot of other stuff too. (6 year old clumsy son... lots of blood stains) its grated bar soap water, borax, and laundry soda. Its a creamy texture and sells faster than I knew possible! I scent it with lemon and some lavender, and always a lot plain. 12L jars easily sell at one market. 10.00 a pop
