Greetings,

I am new to this forum and somewhat new to CP soapmaking. I've made a few batches and rebatches of CP soap, and have about a pound of grated soap I made that I now want to rebatch with dark beer. What should I know about using alcoholic beverages in my soap? I suspect that both the alcohol and carbonation need to be removed from the beer before I use it to soften the shavings, right? Anything else I should know before I proceed?

If any of you have pictures of beer soap you've made, I'd love to see them, along with your sagely tips and tricks.

Thanks in advance, and I'm glad to have found this board.

Beth

Thanks, AM! I added the boiled beer (and some distilled water) to a pound of grated rebatch, used the oven method posted by another user to melt it, and poured it into the BB silicone molds. I'll let you all know how it turns out when it's sufficiently hard to unmold and use. BTW, the beer I used was Newcastle Brown Ale to match the Spiced Amber Ale fragrance! Should make for quite a masculine soap.
