Teach Soap

Planning on placing an order soon, and I'd like to know which micas do or don't work well with CP. I really want a shiny green mica but it looks like none of their green micas stand up to CP. I particularly want a gold and a Christmasy red.

Gold sparkle mica doesn't. Ask me how I know. Unless you use it as a pencil line or oil swirl on top. But mixed into CP batter it doesn't work. Does fine in MP though, if you want to use it as an embed.

Inside CP, it won't be shiny, but you can sprinkle some on top.

I love coloring with mica! But yes, it takes some experimentation. I'm doing vivid rainbow colors using mica...I'm doing vivid rainbow colors with mica from The Conservatorie. I'll put up a photo of my rainbow soap on the share thread.

Micas do best is translucent soaps where the light can reflect/refract off the micas and really make them sparkle. The colors will come out more flat in CP soap. Though as others said you can use the gold sparkle for a pencil line or dusting the tops.

I've done some CP soaps with BB's copper lipsafe mica. What I do is a swirl of the copper, and it looks good against the matte soap. it's not as dramatic as a clean MP soap, but it does have a soft shimmer.

I am looking for micas that don't change color in CP.
