Teach Soap

I saw the recipe for the vegetable wash soap and was wondering if I can use it on my body? and can I substitute the palm oil for avocado oil? I have read all their is to know about Lye. So now I am just trying to get my recipe right. I have just learned about the Lye calculator. Thank you.

Distilled water, Lye, coconut oil, Palm oil, Olive oil. Can I take out the palm oil and add Avocado oil?

You can make a castile soap, which is just olive oil, water and lye. You have to run it through a lye calculator .

If so then yes you can definitely use it on yourself!

Palm helps with lather when used with the coconut oil and also contributes to a harder bar, avocado makes a softer bar, ideally they are not the best oils/butter to swap for each other. You can, your bar will just be different than intended. =)

A better swap for Palm would be a lard or tallow.

Thank you. I like the recipes you suggested to. Although I don't know what rice bran oil will do to my skin. I know that I can use the suggested recipes with out the color. this sounds great. Thank You.
