Y'know, I did some with beeswax last weekend and one of my soaps did that and I did NOT put it in the freezer...just a little "fault line" if you will, down the middle...I was thinking it was fast trace.

Beeswax will heat up your soap - maybe cut down the amount and see what other stuff in there will heat it up also. Some FOs always "volcano" and I hear GM will too.
Also, maybe you started at a too hot Temp???

I use beeswax a lot in my soaps and I only add about an ounce and I haven't had any trouble with overheating. I do use an 8% lye discount so maybe that will help?

I use beeswax in every batch; at around 2%. I don't gel, so it either goes in the fridge or the freezer.
The only time I have had problems was when I had an FO that tends to overheat.
I also soap cool. The lye pitcher and the oils pot are just warm to the touch.
