So let's pretend making 20 lbs of soap/ day gets old pretty quick. How does one step it up a level beyond immersion blender to make larger batches, say at least 50 or 100 lbs each? Is it one of those free-standing dough mixer things they use at restaurants for making bread? Can someone recommend an entry-level model suitable for our purposes? And what would one pour the batch into for a mold?

The biggest batch that I make is 20 lbs., as I can lift anything heavier. I have a Waring Pro Stick blender with a long stainless steel shaft that fits into a large stainless steel pot. I got it at the restaurant supply store online.

Check out soapequipment.com
They have the large block moulds, and all the gear for melting and mixing very large, commercial level batches.
I use two of the 60 gallon water jacketed melters. Same models as the ones they carry. I bought them used from another soap maker - best investment I ever made.
