Teach Soap

....at least, I think that's what it is! I had a batch seize on me, using BB's orchid fo. I didn't notice the little grainy bits in the rush to get it into the mould, but I can see them now on the surface. I haven't unmoulded it yet, it's quite soft to the touch, I could push my finger in quite a way if i tried. I don't know whether to leave it a while and see if it's okay, or dump it. Are the ricey bits dangerous? If it doesn't look too bad and isn't seeping, will I still be able to use it?

Oh, no fun! If it's not lye heavy I would rebatch! There is a great post here with some tips and other options for salvaging the soap! =)

I was thinking of using the hot process hero instructions,what do you think? The soap will have been in the mould for 2 days tomorrow. Is it too late to chop it up and melt it for this process. Also, I used colours before it seized, I assume it will go a bit of a muddy colour because of this. Do I need to add more fragrance, or will the fragrance survive the process? It actually smells good

Since the soap is still new, chunk it up, add it to a crock pot and cook til it's the consistency of mashed potatoes. Mix very well, then glop into your mold. I would not add more fragrance.

Thanks Irena, my soap has now been duly melted and glopped! It still doesn't look great, but hopefully it will be useable

I've never used FO, only EOs, & have never gotten ricing or seizing. It almost seized on me once and I barely got it poured into the mold in time. If certain people don't start appreciating the difference between EOs and FOs tho I might start sneaking in some FOs on them at some point, way in the future.
