Teach Soap

Hi Folks -

Are there base oils, whose higher percentage of use in one's batch, helps create more time when dealing with stubborn FOs that want to accelerate rapidly? Just trying to see what I can do to tweak (or overhaul) my recipe.

Olive oil traces pretty slowly, I use a fairly high olive oil recipe and have plenty of swirling time.

Lard is also slow tracing when you soap at cooler temps.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I find that pomace olive oil traces faster than grade A or virgin olive oil, so if you're using pomace try a different type. Also, palm free recipes tend to take longer to trace.

Yes, oils like olive and sunflower are slower to trace. It also helps to use a little less of the hard oils, which tend to speed things up.
