Had my first yikes overheat, I mean I have had and stopped minor trouble with a few batches but this one was different.

I made my honey/GM/oats soap, which I normally soap cooler(40 degrees C, 100ish degrees F I believe), but today it started overheating really quickly on me. I ran out for a few minutes and when I came back it was just starting to get a top crack. Scrambled to my freezer to make room and its been in there ever since. I even tried putting it up off the counter and didn't insulate as its a little warmer here in ONtario today.

Anyway, stupid question...how long should I keep this bad boy in the freezer for? And how long should it take for the liquid on top to hide back int he loaf? I so so hope I don't have to re-batch this. I have people asking about this soap, been sold out and haven't had time to make any:0)

Thanks

I would put it in the fridge instead of the freezer if you have any oils that are seeping on top, to give them a chance to reabsorb.

Soapbuddy's right. I put my OMH soap in the freezer as soon as it's in the mold for at least 24 hrs, then move to the fridge for 24, then let it sit on the counter for several hours before I unmold and cut it.

Not sure what was on top but I just took it out of the freezer and see what happens...it can't possibly start to heat up again now! I would of put it in the fridge off the bat but I didn't have room, and other batches have not done this overheat. I will leave it molded for a while and then try to luck at cutting it:0)
