Teach Soap

Soapbuddy I got the sodium lactate and want to make a batch of soap to go in my gutter mold but am a bit confused. How do you determing if it should go in the fridge or freezer? Next question, how long does it stay in there?

Add the liquid sodium lactate to your cooled off lye water as it is water soluble.

After you pour your raw soap into the mold, wait long enough that it start to set up. That way once you put it into the fridge or the freezer, it won't ooze out.

If you have a fragrance that you know will overheat, stick it in the freezer. Otherwise the fridge should be fine. Different fragrances and additives react differently.

I have left my soap in the fridge or the freezer up to overnight.

I've got some SL on it's way to me, liquid form, and the info I'm reading is not to discount water with it. So, soapcalc defaults to 30% or 33% or something...I have been using 25% water. Do you think I'll have a problem with that amount of water? Will SL accelerate trace?

It takes so little of the liquid SL, you don't need to figure it out with your water. Just do what you normally do. Add the SL to your cooled off lye water.
