Adding it to make recipies harder...what is the useage rate? PPO, if you please!

Nomally adding things with high stearic acid (palm kernel, for example) will make your bars kind of drying, right? Will the addition of *just* stearic acid do the same? Or is it other compounds in palm kernel and coconut oil that do it?

Does it go in the lye water, mixed with oils, what?

OK, so talk to me about sodium lactate then....

I've been adding beeswax to the past few batches and so far so good...would it be overkill to do both? Is there a reason to do one over the other?

With how hard beeswax is, over time is it not good for septic systems? Is it just the vegan factor some folks don't use it?

I do both since I don't gel. The beeswax saponifies in the soap, so no worries with the soap suds going down the drain.

Vegans prefer not to use it as it is an animal by-product.
