Teach Soap

This probably has to be the noob question of all time. I have the 1 lb bag of BB palm oil, and I'm wondering how long to nuke it? I assume short bursts of 30 seconds. Is that on high or maybe 50% How do I make sure it's all well-mixed before I use it? Should I just "squish" the bag? Shake it? Both? Palm is looking like a big PITA to me. Lard is looking very attractive right about now.

I've only gotten the larger bag, and I nuke that one on 40 second bursts at full power. For the small bag 30 seconds at 50 percent sounds better, but I might even do 20 second bursts. Nuke it, mush it around, nuke it again, repeat until it is all melted.

I have the larger bag, I nuke it for a minute, then shake it really good. 20 second bursts is probably a good bet for a smaller bag.

It is kind of a pain isn't it? I do prefer lard also and it's much cheaper!

oh no. my palm oil is going to come in a bag?

I hate bottles of oil like that. I like when I get my palm oil in a bucket and I can scoop it out. oh geeshs. I hope not in a bag!!!

I also prefer to use lard. Nice hard white bars. I did use BB palm oil when I first started. Be sure to melt it until it is clear and not just liquid. Then shake it like crazy. You need to do this to get the stearic acid mixed well or you will get little white spots in your soap.
