 Post subject: crumbly soap

What causes crumbles in cp soap. I have a batch that has a few crumbly places . Small spots maybe less than 1/2 ". It is not lye heavy. I added 1 teas. salt (completely dissolved in lye water) in 24 ounces of oils. I used ultramarine blue and titanium dioxide to color it. Firs time I have experienced this.

Most likely from the salt. Although if you overuse TD, it can be a bit crumbly.

1 teaspoon of salt in 24 ozs. of oils should not make it crumbly. Titanium Dioxide can do that. Did the soap gel and how much did you superfat?

I used a 7% superfat and I did not gel.
