Brilliant, I needed this too. My scale seems to be really flighty when it comes to grams, which makes me wary to even rely on it for ounces.

I keep four quarters in a tiny zip lock bag. Periodically I weigh the bag. It weighs 1 ounce or then I switch to grams and the pouch weighs 28 grams. This is how I verify my battery is operating correctly.

That said many of the containers I use over and over again like buckets are weighed and their weight is marked on the container. Glass containers for fragrance oils are also weighed and marked. So when I make soap if the weight on the container is off well that would be a clue! It is also handy when I loose track of things I've put into the pot. I can recalculate the weight of the container plus this and that ingredient and find out where I was at if that makes sense! LOL

A further accurate check would be to use a graduated syringe (if you have one) and check the measured weight of, say, 10mls water. 1ml water = 1g.
