Has anyone soaped with Birch Essential Oil? I used .2 ounces in a batch of 28 ounces oil and I almost had soap on a stick. I know Clove Essential Oil speeds up trace, but does Birch? My temps were around 95 degrees.

Due to Methyl Salicylate, Oil of Wintergreen and Sweet Birch Oil are not normally used in soaps. Most Wintergreen oil available on the market today is synthetic. Birch oil should not be used as an oil, especially during pregnancy. I would not use either one in soaps, due to liability issues.

I love the smell of Birch. Is there a safe Essential Oil or blends of Essential Oils that would come close to smelling like Birch?

Perhaps you could use it in a diffuser? Make wax tarts? Then you can still enjoy the smell of birch.
