Whenever I have made OMH soap in the past, it has always been "real" OMH - milk, honey, pulverized oats and beeswax. I got some OMH Cybilla and it smells SO YUM. But I feel like making "real" OMH and then adding the FO is sort of overkill, especially considering that with the milk, honey and beeswax that soap is kind of tricky.

So what do you do?

Do what works for you. :) It has not been a big seller for me, so I don't make it.

I make an oatmeal bar but I do not use the FO. However, I have learned that when I think something is over the top, many people love it that way! Lol So do whatever you feel and whatever you want. I do not use beeswax in my soap either, but I sometimes add honey. I usually do a lavender oatmeal bar, a calendula oatmeal, and a jewelweed oatmeal bar (for poison ivy). I have found that my customers do not care so much what the scent is for the oatmeal soap, just that it is oatmeal. So whatever works for you and your customers is what you should do. WHen you don't know, try a few different ways and see what sells best.

Is the beeswax helpful in this kind of soap? OMH soap is on my "list" and I already have the fragrance, but I've heard honey can cause issues, does the beeswax help with them? I've never put beeswax in a soap before.

OMH is one of my favorite soaps, but I don't even know if the ones I've enjoyed in the past were "all natural" or if they had fragrance oil in them... darn it, now I just want to order another 2lb mold so I can make a big batch, split it, and scent one but not the other. This new obsession of mine is going to bankrupt me!

I use beeswax in every batch and honey sometimes.

Are you using it for the scent or for hardness?

I do both - a "real" OMH soap made with goat milk, local honey and oatmeal with no scent added, and then another that is my regular soap recipe scented with OMH FO. Most people seem to like the scented one better, but I have quite a few customers that want unscented soap so I keep a variety just for them. :D

I use fresh, raw goat milk, raw, unfiltered honey, and finely ground oatmeal, with some BB MHO FO. Everyone loves it! I'm planning on making a "baby" MHO bar with no fragrance or maybe very light fragrance. I'm just wondering about using honey in a baby soap bar? I know babies aren't supposed to eat honey...you think it's okay to use in the soap?

All natural OMH is always my best selling soap. I use goat milk, pulverized oats, and raw honey, no fragrance. Beautiful soap.
