Teach Soap

Hello! I have been making soap for about 10 years, and I've been lurking on this forum for a while, but I decided to finally join in!

I'm curious - what are your most ambitious CP attempts? Both successful and less so?

Mine - Using 3 scents and 2 colors in 3 different combinations in one batch. Lavender (purple), mint (green) and vanilla. Then I made a lavender/vanilla log, a mint/vanilla log and a lavender/mint log. I also recently made a 4-color camo soap in a column mold.

Unsuccessful - I tried the Oatmeal, Milk and Honey mantra swirl from the BB page. No fault of the tutorial. I decided to get fancy with my recipe and add some beeswax. Perhaps my oils were too hot, b/c when I added the lye to the oils it just instantly separated! I went ahead with my attempt, but in the mold it was still separated, so I abandoned the attempt to layer the colors and just kept stirring. Now it looks like a log of crusty poop. But it smells really nice!

I would say my 8-color/4-section elemental swirl. I think I posted a pic in the gallery thread. Setting it up and figuring out how to portion out the batter took an hour and a half. I walked through the sequence of pours twice in my mind before I did it, and luck was with me, because it turned out. Worse was the two and a half hours of clean up.

by "gallery thread" do you mean the "show off your creations" thread? I've been looking through it. do you happen to know what page yours is on? I'd love to see it!

I do an 8 colour "kaleidosoap" that I'm pretty pleased with! But I need something even more ambitious! Thinking about trying a 16 colour one!
