Does the term "Too Cleansing" mean that the soap could be drying to the skin? And in this recipe, even though I tried to keep all the values in the middle of the road, is the value 17 for "Cleansing" going to cause this recipe to have a drying effect on the skin?

Unless my eyes are older than I thought or I need more coffee this morning, it looks to me that you are missing 20% somewhere? I'm not sure if I'm reading that right. If the 20% was a misprint on your olive oil then that would be a good bar it looks like to me. I don't know where you got 54 for cleansing but on soapcalc it looks like this with the other 20% as olive oil:

Castor 10%
Coconut 10%
Olive 25%
Palm 25%
Palm Kernel Flakes 15%
Rice Bran 10%
Shea 5%

I get:
Hardness 43
Cleansing 17
Conditioning 54
bubbly 26
creamy 35

That looks good to me! 17 is not too bad for cleansing, about middle of the road and with a 7%SF is good.

There is 100% of Oil there. I some how omitted the Cleansing line and I have edited to include it. Guess I wasn't awake this morning when I did this. The Cleasning is 17, not 54 as I stated earlier.
Is the 17 factor a little too high, would this cause dryness? Should I adjust the recipe to get a lower factor for cleansing?

oops must have missed something then  sorry. I don't think 17 is "too" cleansing. My soaps come out either 17 or near it in cleansing I try not to got over that by much but I had one recipe that came out 19 and that one was nice too because it had lots of cocoa butter and other oils that made for a nice balance. I SF at 7% and we like them. Haven't had any issues with dryness after using them. 17 is middle of the road for the values that are given as a guideline, and it IS just a guideline. As long as you come up with a good balance between cleansing and creamy and hardness I don't see a problem.

Most of my soaps have a 17-18 cleansing number. They are lovely. As long as the coconut oil is less than 25% (which you have only at 10%), you are usually good. I use olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and shea butter in most of my recipes. I superfat at 7%. Remember, all CP soaps tend to be drying at first. Once they've cured for a month, they are less drying than when they are brand new.

Thanks everyone for your input. I did try the soap a little early and that could very well be the reason for the slight dryness. It does lather up nicely and feels good and silky. If you all think that this recipe is a good one I will keep it.

All new soaps can be drying. Give it a nice long cure, then wash with it again.
