Teach Soap

So I hit the jackpot today!! I found 3 molds at a local thrift store for $1 each. They're the flexible 3-D molds, one is berries, one is orange slices, and the other is just circles. I nearly jumped up and down in the middle of that caotic mess they call a store. lol

Anyways...I've read that a lot of people use melt and pour for little molds like this to embed in their CP soap.
Does anyone use CP soap in them?
Are there advantages to using MP vs. CP?

And...lets say you fill the molds with some of the leftover CP from a batch, let cure, and then embed into say a loaf mold at a later time...are the embeds going to be a bear to cut through??

Oooh and I almost forgot...I also got 3 small silicone ice cube tray looking star molds for 50 cents each too! WOOOHOO!

I use those silicone molds all the time and love them! I just got flower ones from walmart after Easter for a quarter. I did a happy dance right in the isle and grabbed 8 of those puppies! Lol I do cp embeds. The newer they are, the better they tend to stick together and not pull apart around the edges., although, the smaller ones are usually fine even when they are older, more cured. A lot depends upon the recipe too I think. Actually, I have used embeds that were nearly a year old (they were unscented) and worked just fine. They didn't present too much of a cutting problem either, but I would imagine that large ones could.
The m&p embeds need to be a decent size so you don't melt them during the gel phase. I just mean that the tiny confetti pieces won't make it, not that they have to be half the soap size. Some neat effects can be made with m&p pieces in cp soap. So try them both and have fun playing with your new toys!

I never thought I'd get that excited over soap molds, but it sounds like we have the same reactions. lol
I showed them to my husband and he just looked at me like I was mental. Of course they look like blobs of silicone. Luckily I'd just looked at these online about 2 days ago, otherwise I probably wouldn't have even known what they were.

Oh good deal! Those will be cute! The quarter flower ones that I got were not 3-d, they are like mini ice cube trays. But hey, twenty-five cents is twenty-five cents! You really got a great deal on those though. Around here you rarely find 3-d molds at the second hand stores, of course that never stops me from looking! Hey, just think what joy we must give the strangers who see us doing happy dances in the isles! See, our addictions are a blessing to all, so who are we to deprive them?

That is so awesome. I haven't found any of the silicone ones with berries or fruits yet. Would be great as toppers for things like Black Raspberry Vanilla.

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty excited about them, and totally shocked they were there. We never have cool stuff like that either! I'll have to get some pictures once I get some pretty fruits made.
