Teach Soap

My math is notoriously bad, especially when the formulae I've heard all seem to be for Imperial measure instead of metric. I *think* that at about four ounces each bar, four bars equal a pound, which means that 36 bars (Brambleberry's 36-bar wooden mold) would equal 9 pounds of soap. Is that correct? Does anyone have direct experience using this mold, so you can tell me how much soap to mix up?

Also: If I wanted to make a 9-pound batch such as that, how would I actually make that happen? Soapcalc.com has its setup such that you input your oil weight, rather than the total weight you want, which is very inconvenient IMO.

i looked it up on the BB website and they say this, "...This 36 bar wooden mold is made out of top grade Russian Birch Plywood and holds approximately 10-12 lbs of soap...." hope this helps

I haven't used that one. I'd call or send an email to customer service to get the specific volume.

I have it, and make 10 lb batches, which gets me about 4 oz bars after cure.
