Ok I'm sure this has been discussed but I went back 9 pages and couldn't find anything.

I've read where some people use shoeboxes to store their soaps. I've only made 2 batches so far and since my spare bedroom is a mix of bedroom/craft room/office....I need to get them off the racks and stored a little better.

So for those who store in boxes, do you do this after the required cure time? Or right away?
I bought some smaller rubbermaid clear tote boxes today with the idea I'd store soap in them but then wasn't sure if they could go in there yet.

CP soap needs to breathe. I would go with the paper shoe boxes.

Priority mail boxes are free. Some folks use cardboard baseball card boxes, which you can find in various sizes, which makes it easy to keep your scents separated. Or just punch some holes in the plastic totes.

So just to make sure...you guys let your soaps cure in the boxes right? Not just for storage afterwards?

I use boxes for storing. Before the soap cures, mine are on a baker's rack.

Double ditto! Fully cure your soaps before storing. That wait is the hardest part of CP soapmaking. :lol:

To poke holes in the plastic, you will need to use a drill or heat something to poke through.
