So I am trying to down my OO and up it with something just a gentle and moisturizing so here goes

caster oil 5%
Cocoa Butter 5%
Avocado Oil 18%
Coconut Oil 20%
Olive Oil 22%
Palm Oil 30%

OR I have this idea

Avocado 10%
Castor Oil 5%
Cocoa Butter 5%
Coconut Oil 20%
Olive Oil 22%
Palm Oil 30%
Almond Oil 8%

The original recipe had 30% olive oil and 10% avocado oil, which made a beautiful bubbly bar. This recipe also contains goats milk powder(1Tbsp PPO). If this recipe turns out to be worth trying, I am also going to try using this for my gm/honey/oats recipe. I am looking for a nice gentle cleansing..won't leave sensitive skin feeling parched!

The last formula I made is relatively close to your two.

CO - 24%
PO - 29%
POM - 29%
Castor - 8%
Cocoa Butter - 2%
Shea Butter - 2%
Avocado - 6%

I've actually been worried that my CO % is too high. I've been using 24-30%. I need to try lowering the CO. Anyone have suggestions on max % of CO to use?

I stay within 20% or close to it for coconut. My skin finds anything over 20% drying. I prefer a larger % of olive.

So I am about to try these recipes and stumbled across a problem...out of cocoa butter:) Shea butter should work just as well, correct? They both help to make a hard bar of soap, correct???

You can use shea butter. I would run it though lye calc again, just in case.

shea butter is softer than cocoa butter so you may have to increase your hard oils to accommodate. Playing with the calculator will let you see what is best for what you want.
