Hello Everyone
I am new to the forum and the soap world. I have only made a few batches of cold process soap and I noticed as its curing, I get small blotches of white... on the top. The recipe is pretty basic - olive, coconut and palm. What am I doing wrong?

I am completely in love with making this stuff and so excited to start experimenting with some colour and fragrance. I want to stay as natural as possible - any suggestions for a newbie?

Sounds like soap ash, which is normally just aesthetic.

Two suggestions:
- Place plastic wrap on top of your soap after pouring until you cut it.
- Spritz the top of the soap after pouring with high % rubbing alcohol

Finally, if you do have ash, you can steam it off or some suggest rubbing it off with a nylon.
