Strangest thing happened tonight, while making a batch of soap.
I used Plumeria fo from NGC (smells amazing)
On the site it said no ricing. I am pretty sure I mixed long enough, had a nice trace to it. When I mixed my soap though, it started to look like it had a grainy texture to it. Could I have possibly not mixed the fo into the soap good enough, or is this what ricing looks like? Will this affect my soap after cure?
I usually gel but when I started to gel these I took a quick peek and GLAD I did! Because it was starting to become jelly! :o I took them out immediately thankfully they r fine now. UGH! What is going on tonight Cold Process?? I didn't do anything different and always soap @ 100-105 degrees.

Sounds like ricing to me. Lots of florals tend to misbehave. They can also heat up. I would leave it be for now and cut the soap with gloves on; just in case. Then check for zap, lye pockets or fragrance pockets. Worst case scenario you can rebatch if all your weights are correct.

I just wanted to add that your particular recipe and the temps that you soap at will also influence whether or not a fragrance misbehaves with you when the on site review says that it doesn't rice, A or D. Use the comments to give you an idea, but always know that you may see different results, and be ready to beat that puppy into submission!

I soap @ 100 always. Is this a good temp? Never had any problems with my other batches doing this. My first time using a floral too.
