Teach Soap

I have a quick question. I am thinking of making goats milk soap, and want to know if powdered goats milk is acceptable. Is it easier to work with than regular goats milk? Any tips, advice? Is temperature as critical with powdered GM as with regular GM?

Dareessa, it is easier. Depending several things. I f you adding at trace and just adding a portion. I dont know about reconstituting with water and adding to lye cause i always use frozen goatmilks when I do that.
When I have used powdered milk i always added at trace and mixed with about two oz of water and used that much less water to the lye.
I dont know if I have made any sense here but hope so.

When I used to use powdered GM I did it pretty much like Bama does. Except one time where I decided to just pour the powder directly into my soap batter at trace and mix it in. When I cut the soap, there was powder specks everywhere...not really what I was going for.

You can mix the powdered goat milk right into your oils (before adding the lye water) and stick blend it in. No clumps, easy peasy.
