A while ago I posed the question as to whether spider silk could be incorporated into soap.
This (today's THE GUARDIAN newspaper) seems to include the answer:

Under the Oxford Biomaterials wing, Vollrath's team has another project that makes meniscal implants by which they dissolve the silk in lithium bromide ("a really nasty chemical, the only thing that will touch it") and then firm it up.

I don't know... I'm kind of wonky about spiders... I tend to run screaming like a little girl. So the thought of rubbing something with spider silk/webbing in it frankly is just not going to happen.
