Teach Soap

So I have finally after all this time making soap had a run in with those gremlins...grrrr

I have read about ricing bit have never seen it with my own 2 eyes...I am assuming that is what happened to this batch. It began looking clumpy and somewhat like bad milk as soon as I added the lye. My own fault really...tried to speed up the cooling process by adding my FO, which happened to be the first time using this one. So mad at myself for not being patient enough to wait out the cool down!

Anyway. After lots of mixing and blending I decided to not add any colour and glop it into the mold and re-batch it tomorrow! Hopefully this works, I have a few people wanting to try this new scent. Silly question, but I had my oxides made up and covered them with plastic wrap...they should be ok til tomorrow, right?

Good thing my other batch of lemongrass had no crazy things happen to it:)

That's too bad. Which FO did you use? Your oxides should be fine for tomorrow.

Worst comes to worst, you could try to rebatch it.

Here is my batch the this morning, not sure whats sitting on the top but I assume its oils. It moves around like oils anyway when I tip the mold. Is this a salvageable batch? Was going to try rebatching it tonite after work, also not sure what was leaking out the mold. There is a 7% superfat on this batch so it should be, could just add a Tbsp or so more oils???

Try to rebatch all of it, including the oil on top.

I've had a couple of batches look like that and I've been able to rebatch with no problem. Good luck!
