I have always used glass pyrex measure bowls for making my soap, however after reading some of the conversations about the glass breaking or splintering into my batter I thought I better switch ASAP to plastic.
Anyway, I am looking at these
http://www.amazon.ca/Trudeau-2-Tone-Col ... 603SQ8JBCTbut am a little concerned about toxins in the plastic getting into my soap batter. They don't specify BPA free, and are made from long lasting polypropylene...again, is this safe?
I have always used a double broiler to melt my oils so my other somewhat stupid question is...does everyone else micro melt their oils? Is this faster but less accurate in temp? I normally soap by 'hand feel on the bowls' and don't really use a thermometer...bad likely I know but so far its worked really well(I only used a therm when I was first learning)
Thanks everyone!
