So my loaf that I made last nite has a gray line of something pushing up down most of the middle of my loaf. Crack? Also I always get those darn bubbles at the top and I dont know why. THANKS!!

It's hard to say from the pic, but it could be. It's possible that you are getting the bubbles from your stick blender. Are you pouring at what trace? Are you putting the soap in the oven on low?

Darn!! It was kinda thick last nite as the White Ginger Amber seemed to accelerate it a bit. Temps were about 110 and wrapped in a towel. I am always careful to tap out bubbles from under the blender and I pour the lye water down the stick too!

so now what do I do with it..bummed

It's still fine, just has a crack! There is a video on youtube that shows how to fix the crack!

Na its done gelling I think, its about 15 hours old now and no more heat. Is it rubbing alcohol that is used to spray on the top or something different?
