Well I have to say I am liking the idea of an honest man and one that keeps his mouth shut when he has nothing nice to say! Your Mamma did a great job of raising you! Your wife is truly fortunate too, and if you were closer I sooooooo would rent you as a hubby and I wouldnt mind sending you home at night either! For that matter, if Mrs. Florida is willing, that's not too far of a drive! LMAO! Actually, on the serious side, if some men did do this a business they might find out that there was a huge market for it! handymen seem to have gone out of fashion, not too many to find anymore. ANd the ones that I have found, trust me, they were so NOT worth it! My 6 month old Grandson or my 90 year old neighbor could do a better job. Work just isn't for some people I guess.

And midnight, Superguy Supersoaper is right about the price from the barrel place. I checked them out too, and they are by far much less expensive, even with the shipping included! And, actually, that shipping fee was a good price too. I have paid much more for much less, so you did good girl! :D And just think, you will be soaping a while with it, like a whole week!

The handyman is definitely a dying thing! We have customers (tree service customers) ask about a referral for one all the time! And then the ones you do see are clearly not good at what they do! I am definitely fortunate to have someone so handy around and lucky for me I have learned a lot as well so I am pretty handy myself now! We remodeled houses together for a couple years when our daughter was little...we traveled around doing it. I am perfectly capable of using a tape, skil saw and nail gun myself! ;)

Oh I kwym Melissa. I took shop instead of home ec in school, but alas I have a bad back and have leg issues too, so I simply can't DO some things anymore. With my Sons being grown and living about 1 1/2 hours away, I just have more that needs done than they can do for me on the rare time off. They want me to move closer, which I want too, but even when I do I won't depend upon them to all my work for me. It isn't fair to them. So a good handyman would really come in handy! :D

Ouch!

ljm1180.... On behalf of husbands, that's mildly insulting......well, no it really isn't. But you couldn't be more correct :)

It has been my experience in observing a large number of husbands over the years, that husbands will generally bend over backwards to help someone do something as long as that someone isn't their own spouse. There are a few exceptions, however, and I'm certain you are one of the exceptions.

Wives aren't any different. My wife loves her car and prefers that I don't drive it (I'm a little tough on things....except her). I've been telling her for the past 2 weeks that I want to take her car during the day so I can get new tires. Her response, "it doesn't need tires yet". Every couple of days we go through the same thing.

Yesterday on her way home, she's getting gas and the service station attendant comments that she "might" need tires. Guess where her car is at this very moment? Not more than 24 hours after a stranger mentions she may need tires. I can tell her something a dozen times and it means nothing but if a stranger mentions it.....it's like written on stone.

Last night she watched some musical movie where they're dancing a lot (Mama Mia....cute movie). So she's annoying the hell out of me dancing while I'm trying to watch the pre-game show. Then, in the middle of the 2nd quarter, she dances into the room and asks me to play some of the abba music (the stuff in the movie) so we can dance. Now I love my wife, and I love to dance, and I love to dance with my wife. But her timing is terrible. Told her I didn't want to dance just then because the game was getting really good. She interprets that as: I hate dancing. I hate her. And I especially hate dancing with her. So she's at the car place waiting for tires while I'm at home because she won't speak to me until about 9 pm tonight. She has a 24 hour anger limit.

And you say guys are funny? Don't get me started.....

I will later. I'm waiting on a good brownie recipe from a very dear friend. She makes them either "cakelike" or "chewy". I'll make them tonight. Actually I'm the one who likes the brownies. She likes anything I make as long as I make it and she doesn't have to cook. She's an awesome cook, needs help with baking but her table meals are wonderful. Thought we shouldn't have to cook for the next couple of days. Still eating the "drop off" meals.

 Now I am SURE that if your tried really hard, you could have thought of SOMETHING after the game was over to dance her out of her displeasure with you! While I, and my daughter in law, like football and want to watch the games, especially the SB, (in fact we were the ones asking my Mom to shhh and to please move out of the tv line of site yesterday) a majority of women don't, and yes, they get mad when their man's attention is on the game instead of them. But, as a husband, and such a sweet one at that, you should know how to sweet talk her right off her feet and right out of having that mad on! You just must not have tried hard enough :P Your're just lucky she has such a short expiration date on being mad.

You don't think I thought of that??? By the time the game was over she was in bed, with the lights off. We don't have "this is my side of the bed and that is your side". We just alternate sleeping on whichever side suits us at the time. When one of us goes to bed earlier than the other, which is unusual, we get right in the middle so the last one in bed can choose the side they want (king size but close together). When I got in bed last night she was hugging the side so close I was afraid she was going to fall off. When I try to move her toward the middle so she doesn't fall......well it's my fault for waking her up. Lose-lose situation.

ljm, lavender, midnight, lindaWise, mella, soapbabysoap and CELESTE.......alll women after my own heart. You guys make this place enjoyable. Thanks.

 Well I give you points for trying! And, by what you posted, I wasn't sure if you did think about that, which disappointed and concerned me. But now you have renewed my faith in your Superness so all is right with the world  . And, as you said, she has a 24 hour mad limit, so lucky you! Maybe she just enjoys the making up part, cuz I have never met a woman with such a short expiration date    In which case, VERY lucky you! :P

She called a little while ago to let me know she's on the way home. I have the Abba movie in que so we can watch it when she gets home. Made room so we can dance. We have 1.5 hours until the kids get here off the buss so hopefull we can get some dancing done before they arrive and start to giggle. All the time they see us kiss one another they giggle. Must be a schoolgirl thing.
