I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I had a bottle of lye "come up dead" once. How did I know this? When I added the lye to my water it bearly heated up. The first batch of lye got to approx 100 degrees as it was part from a previous and part from the new bottle. I made the batch anyway just for the fun of it and it did cure into soap... very little lather. I am assuming that it is extremely superfatted. I then made a batch of lye water just from the new bottle and it never got over 80 degrees. The bottle of lye got discarded. It has been over 1.5 years and still no DOS! I have 4 bars left and save this soap for myself... great in the middle of winter when my skin is at its dryest. Not to mention that it is a very mild soap at this point.
