If you can find some silicone baking sheet liners you can cut them to size and line your mold[/quote]

Oh, what a great idea! And so much less time consuming than making one! Thanks LJM, I am going to look for some!

I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the same kind of silicone liner (I'm thinking like a Silpat) but if so those have tiny bits of glass on the inside, that is how cookies and things brown when you are using them.

Hmm. I've never heard of that. All the ones I've seen say 100% silicone. I would think they would need to tell you if there was something else in them, especially glass! I'm going to have to research this.

The brand that I have for baking I'd DeMarle (sp?) and I purchased it at a home party and that was what the host said. I haven't ever looked into it any further. I hope that for the sake of soap there are other options!

These are the mats I have:

http://www.amazon.com/Silicone-Zone-150 ... B00009A9WV

I looked all over the box and even went to their website, but all it says is that they are food grade silicone and that the mats can be cut with scissors to fit pans. The DeMarle Silpat mats say to cut them with DeMarle's Exoglass cutters or knives.

Hope this is good news for someone!

I made my polypropolene mold liners today and used them with much success! They worked like magic, no more cutting freezer paper!!

awesome Melissa! I am thinking that I just might do that too. Afterall, 7-8 bucks isn't that much.....and I am thinking the silicone sheets might be more than that. Whichever I find first and least expensive is probably what I'll try!

Today I recived the silcone mat I ordered from amazon.

This one

Then I cut it to do this, I havent used it yet. It cut really easy with a rotery cutter.

Still need to use tape, but hopefully no more cutting paper.

Ok…I can’t stand it any longer…I’m going to Home Depot tomorrow and pick up some of that polypropylene sheeting for my log molds. I don’t want to beat this thread to death but Luigi or Lovesoap…do you have to spray anything on the polypropylene liners to help the soap not stick to them or does it work as good as freezer paper pealing the liner away from the soap?

soapbabysoap looks like the liners bow a bit. Will that happen once the mold is full of soap?
