Well here it is, my first serious step towards artistic soap making, trying colorants and use of a liquid other than water for the first time.
Image
Not sure what to call it, in my head it's a Carotenoid Castile. The coloring is meant to match that cartoon character costume you see in my icon. This is 80% Olive 20% Coconut with a 5% lye discount although since I didn't calculate in the annatto olive oil in the top layer that will have slightly more superfat. The liquid is fresh juiced carrots and ginger with the pulp strained out in a french coffee press. The scent was chosen to use up oils I purchased before I knew about the problems they cause. Orange oil (which will fade) Cinnamon EO (which is irritating for some people but not for me) and Clove EO (same deal with cinnamon). Just a batch to test some techniques but not necessarily to give away due to what I've used to scent it. Overall I'm VERY happy with how everything turned out. This batch yielded over 1200 grams of soap. I used a piece of garbage bag in a baking dish for the mold, and was able to unmold within an hour of pouring as the quick and hot gel phase ended, and sliced it up two hours later. I couldn't have done this pour without all the things I've learned in the past week or so on this forum, thank you all!

Also, that's a table top they're resting on, not a tile floor.

Those are great colors Apo! Matches your avatar perfectly! Great pencil line too. I'm impressed you were able to cut so soon, I have never heard of that haha. I make a cinnamon clove soap too and I love the combo!

Thanks for the generous comments everyone. Irena, I got that stamp off of e-bay... wf9427. I believe it is Cheng Shuai dong. Not very expensive. This is the 3rd stamp I have tried and finally one I can use without an issue. My soap was 4 weeks old when I stamped but as I said this one was a little softer. I will stamp my carrot soap in about 2 weeks. I have checked out Bebes in the past but not ordered from him. I tried this one as I wanted the guest rectangle mold he\she had available.

Apo... love your pencil line! It is one of my favorite looks in soap. Great coloring..and such a cute idea to match the costume.

Wee Heee! I FINALLY got back in the kitchen after an entire week self ban (chest infections, runny noses and coughs, oh my!)

Used up the last of the BB Blackberry Sage (YUM!) and had a play with some top swirls.

Everything happens in 3's... and I've just LOVED playing with the swirls. I remember when I first started being driven by soaps just like this. And now I'm making them, squeee!!

This is one for the men - Blue Musk. Smells D I V I N E! /drool

I've actually attempted to get the swirls through the entire loaf, so very curious to see how this comes out cut.
