Happened to be up the shops today and picked up 'Lard' - was right next to the Copha and literally just said 'Lard' on the packet hehe.

I also noticed this stuff beside it. This is what I remember as a kid (although the container was white) living in our fridge and being melted down 100 times to cook ships and other deep fry foods. Would this work as well? The ingredients list was one item - Animal Fat

Haha yeah, I'm from Australia :D I did my first batch last night at about 8pm I think by the time I started. I have to wait for the kids to be in bed asleep atm while I learn everything. Once I get more confident I will probably do it while they are outside during the day so I can check the soap for longer.

That container says animal fat. Unless you knew what exactly was in it (beef, pork or...) it's going to be hard to get a SAP value. I would use that only for cooking.

Okies cool - will stick to my little cube of 'lard' which lists ingredients as 'Pork Fat'.

Since we're way off topic from the Palm oil in a bucket lol... how much lard would be recommended for a batch?

I'd do lard 50 - 60%, coconut or Pko at 20% and conditioning oils for the rest. Or try 65% lard, 25% PKO (or coconut), 10% olive.

Oh wow... is that like a 'washing powder' stick? Or one of those 'remove stains' sticks? I think I'm confusing Sard Wonder Stick with Lard lol...
