Well I actually got the recipe from the book that I bought from Bramble Berry spicifically for HOT PROCESS soap making. the recipe is called LUXURY FACIAL BAR and yes some oils are more absorbant to your skin or contain antioxidents ,vitamins and such,two very popular oils considered great for aging ,wrinkled or scarred skin is rosehip seed oil and meadowfoam oil ,the best way to find out is to google a phrase such as OILS THAT ARE BENIFICIAL TO THE SKIN and that should keep you busy till next thanksgiving I instruct my customers to lather these facial soaps up and to leave it on there skin for several minutes before rinsing ,kind of like a facial mask, hopefully allowing more of these precious ingredients to do there best at beautifying skin. Mella, love your soaps! Is the Peppermint Patti Pink a funnel swirl? I didn't notice the power circles in the Poofie Pink Top either until you pointed them out.

Debbie, beautiful soaps! The Oatmeal/Honey and Buttermilk looks so creamy. The swirls in the Peppermint/Spearmint are great, too.

Carolynp, love the piping to top of your soaps. Great job!

I had asked a question several weeks ago about anise EO, and here's the resulting soap.

Used lard, activated charcoal for color. I'm calling it "Licorice Pig".

The freshly poured batch.



Here's a group shot of the batch after cutting.



And here's a close-up of a few of the bars.





I can't stand black licorice, but my dog handler friend loves the stuff (which is why I made it in the first place!). I've got a final craft show this Saturday, and if I don't get a lot of it sold, my friend may get more than she was expecting for Christmas!

I like the black and white. Your swirls are fantastic. Now the scent is not for me at all... but at least you have someone lined up that does like it.

Susie, I know what you mean about the scent.

When I first cut it, and it was on a shelf to cure, the rack is just inside a door, and the shelf it was sitting on was right at nose level. After about three days, I had to move it to another shelf. (The anise is on the bottom shelf, a batch of spearmint is on the "nose level" shelf. )
