You are so right...when it doubt, wait it out. I keep my oven on 170 for an hour, sometimes less if gel occurs faster.

Here are my Pumpkin Patchouli soaps from last night. As I said, I did lose the pretty waves, but they look ok trimmed off.

In the mold, before gelling

Wow!!! Beautiful soaps jbren!!!! I'm envious.

You lost the waves but the ridges make them more aesthetically pleasing in my opinion. Pumpkin patchouli.....hmmmm........

Honestly, all the oven does is insure complete gel. If the soap in question will gel without it, you're not adding anything at all by putting it in the oven, but you are risking an overheated batch.

SuperSoaper, you've been lucky with yours, but it might be because of the smaller batch size that won't retain as much heat. I'm generally pouring around 50 bars at a shot.

That sopa is gorgeous!!!! Mine is still gelish on the sides-but this recipe is superfatted and I am wodering if that my be part of the problem=I soaped at 125 degrees and my oven was probably around 170 (I know real precise lol!) I had just finished dying yarn and I do that at 240-I had the oven off for maybe 15 mins and put the soap in and left the door open for 10 mins maybe Okay I will go get a pic-as it has now been 24 hours

See this gel -and you know this is what the first 2 batches were like
