I prefer 92 degree coconut myself as I live in the desert with triple digit heat. I thought about getting the box, but since the oil would get "slushy" in my soap room, I went with a bucket. I know it costs more in the bucket then the box, but for me it's worth it. Using the 92 dgree coconut makes my soaps harder.

Do you have to treat it any differently when soaping? Besides needing a higher temp for melting it and making a harder bar of soap, do you notice any other differences or do you do anything differently?

I am trying to picture just how large this 50 pound block of oil is......can anyone provide dimensions? It sure seems like it would be much smaller than the 55 gallon bucket mentioned.

Soapbuddy......I noticed (at least on the Soapers Choice website) that the 92 Coconut is listed as Hydrogenated, whereas the 76 is Food Grade. Do you use the 92 for anything else besides CP soap?

Do you use 76 coconut in other products (like lip balms, lotion bars, etc) or is your soap the only place you use coconut oil at all?

For all you guys buying oil in bulk:
Please think SAFE. If there is a fire . . . what will happen? Will your home go up like a torch? Would your insurance cover you? Best to keep bulk oil away from the main residence in a safe location and absolutely have a good extinguisher.
